Back Sort Of

Well, we are home. We were discharged on Tuesday afternoon. This, however, is the first chance I have had sufficient energy, time and desire to pop online. I have been running around for the last couple days. Doing shopping, picking up other things we now need, lots of little things around the house, and laundry -- lots of laundry. Due to the c-section, the wife is rather limited in her activities. She can't do the basement steps and carry a laundry basket so it all falls to me. Add in the splitting of duties for feeding and changing Angie, and well it is a bit crazy. Neither of us has family in the immediate area, so there is limited support. My grandmother called last night, and asked if I felt like a father. "Well my back hurts and I went to bed by 10 last night, so I'm at least feeling like my father."

It's hard to believe the rest of the world hasn't come to a complete stop while all of this has been occurring. I have no clue what is going on in the world. I have a hunch I won't be totally enthralled with what I learn.

Just a quick note

On Friday, June 21, 2002, approximately 8:37 pm, my daughter was born. She was two weeks early, and in total breech (a complete surprise, the doctor had told us Tuesday that the head was down). The doctors performed a c-section (the wife is fine and recovering). Angela Ruth came out weighing 6 pounds, 4 ounces. She is 19 inches long. She actually came out with dark brown hair (which is a complete shock). She already has me wrapped around her finger.

I am just back at the house to pick up a few more things for the wife, send some friends an e-mail, and this. Then it is back to the hospital to stay with them. Hopefully baby and wife (and dad) can come home in a couple days.

UCSD Correction

Several people have written in to correct a glaring error in my post on UCSD. I mistakenly referred to them as the Aztecs which is the nickname for San Diego State University. UC-San Diego is nicknamed the Tritons. Sorry about that. All apologies to alumni of both schools.
