Been Away
The wife was at a
conference in Pittsburgh for the first half of the week.
I was there with our daughter, and trust me, free high speed connection or not, there is only so much time you can spend on a computer in a hotel room with a 3-year old bouncing around the room. Plus, there is my
alma mater, old friends, old haunts, and well I'm not going to share that much. Suffice to say that I had fun.
I also got to meet, Mike,
one of the many
bloggers in Pittsburgh through some of my friends. The result was a really long and interesting groupings of conversations over many pitchers of
Yuengling (oh, how I wish they would distribute in Ohio) and others. It eventually reached a different bar and arguments with the bartender over the quality of various beers -- she was impressive in her knowledge. That resulted in (not surprisingly) drinking more than I intended and further knowledge of getting older and the dreaded slower recovery time.
The second half of the week, the wife and daughter went to
the funeral while I had to come home for some other work and duties. Getting caught up has been difficult.
It hasn't helped that we have been in and out of town for most of the month with other trips and travels. I'm hoping not to be traveling again until the Pitt home opener.
